Rt. Rev. Dr. Joshua Gnanbaranam Johnson passed away on Sunday 10th August 2008 at Chennai. Funeral will be held on Tuesday in the Lutheran Arulnathar Church, Kellys, Kilpauk, Chennai 600007. He was the TELC bishop of Tanquebar. He was seventy five years old.
Rev. Dr. Ponniah Manoharan, Director, Gurukul Lutheran Theological College and Research Institute, Chennai, expressed his condolence in his obituary to the community. Bishop Johnson was a prolific writer and served Gurukul as a teacher and then its Director. Gurukul community offered special prayers for the bereaved family during the worship services.
